Brooklyn is a B.A. town, folks. All the people dress cool, they have yummy small restaurants and the atmosphere is just mellow compared to Manhattan. I was so excited that my friend, LaBruce invited me to attend the Not Wedding in Brooklyn which in turned stemmed into our whole NY Girl’s Trip I talked about yesterday!
Over the summer, I got to experience the Not Wedding first hand by being her bridesmaid in Charleston. Since then, she’s taken this company by storm and has become their Marketing Director and travels across the country hosting Not Weddings in major cities… pretty cool, huh? I didn’t have to think twice when she asked if I wanted to come to the Brooklyn version as a guest.
The Brooklyn Not Wedding had the cutest couple- Lagina and Chris.

The venue was the Whythe Hotel which was an old warehouse converted into a hotel/event space.

The event was spectacular. As usual, they have a wedding ceremony, dancing and drinks like a normal wedding. However, the vendors are what make it fantastic.
Caroline and I got dressed from our MET experience and of course, had to take a selfie. PS, the mirror in the Whythe hotel makes you lose 10 pounds easy.
For brides-to-be, this is the ultimate event to see what wedding designers can do. When you walk in, they have about 6-7 tables set up so you can see different designer styles. Each table is what a vendor set up so you can see what style they could do for your wedding. I really loved the table with the chandelier. Each place setting was a slab of wood to set your plate on.
I also loved the hanging table number, too.
One of the tables had runners with hand stitched constellations. I’m not going to lie, I might steal this idea for my house!
The brides are given glasses of champagne and told to walk around to look at the tables before the ceremony starts. Here they can find out who they want to track down after the wedding.
The ceremony starts and is usually always unique. The couple this time had a little french bull dog that attended the wedding. So precious. The flowers were gorgeous, too.
Food is served and was great however, the best part was the Ben & Jerry’s Bar… where I got every topping they offered. haha
A Photo Booth happened which is always hilarious. The first set we did, my head was cut off so I’ll just show you the one we were ready for. I mean, you always need a trial Photo Booth set!
One of the coolest things that I liked was the Haiku guys. Guests can come up to a quirky set of people, give them a topic and they write a haiku on the spot for you to take home. They put little notecards into a typewriter. It’s really cute so of course, I had to give them the topic of cheetahs.
The event was finished up by passing around the beautiful cake..
Meeting all of the cute vendors…
And getting these super cute goodie bags!
