I've turned into 'yes' girl recently and been doing the most outrageous (for me) things! I am on a kickball team and I've never played any kind of sport with a ball before. Yes- seriously. Great asset to the team, right?
Growing up dancing, I know how to point my toes and kick in a line of girls but catching balls and sliding into a base and messing up my outfit.. is all new to me. Check out our cute little team:
In all fairness to myself.. I think I have improved. I can kick it and make it to first base and I even caught a few the other night. However, apparently, you aren't allowed to stand over 2nd base when the other team is running on it. This ends with the scary man girl charging you and you falling on the ground. My teammates thought this was funny and posted nice videos that made them think of me. RUDE!
Our team is actually on the winning side so I like to think my complex kickball strategy is helping! Cross your fingers we make into the playoffs or whatever it's called! hahaha..
Had a birthday party at Nacho Hippo after the game for our coach- so fun!
I'm double posting today but for all you 'cheetahs' out there, I just COULDN'T let a day go by without telling you what I did last night!
I went to a "Pole Scuplting" class last night! In Pawleys Island, they have a yoga studio, Wicked Fitness, that also does spin class and pole scupting class. Somehow through work (not going into that one) we were offered a free class. NO ONE would go with me but I wanted to try it after hearing it's a celeb go-to workout.
I walked in late. I didn't know anyone there. And the first set of moves made me want to cover my face in my hands and go hide in a corner. However, I quickly realized no one was taking it seriously and we were all there just to have a fun time. I have a whole new appreciation for the strippers. That is NO easy workout, dude. Today, EVERYTHING hurts. I have little chicken wing arms and absolutely no strength in them so if you are looking to tone up, I would recommend this workout. Also, our teacher taught us all the moves to hide our 'cellulite'- GAROOOSSSSS! (but secretly helpful)
All of my family and friends have been making fun of me for the class. You know that room I posted about yesterday, atleast 3 of them said for me to put a pole in there instead of an office. Ha- choke- GAG! Could you imagine coming over to my house with that thing sitting in a corner. FREAK! Bahahahaha- I DO know where they sell poles though.. I saw them when I got my friend, LaBruce's blowup hubby for her bachelorette! story for another time…
All in all, I think we could all turn on some Britney Spears by the end of the class and have a nice little routine. Teach got me mid swing.. I look like a Spider Monkey!
Fun, awkward, I can't believe I did that, pretty 'cheetah' if you ask me, you GOTTA try it one time in your life!
This was bound to happen sooner or later so let's talk about it now. I have a boyfriend and I think he's really cute. His name is Aaron and he kind of gives me that little fuzzy feeling inside when I see him. The only downfall is.. he's super old. Me just turning 25, I'm still a young buck but HIM.. so old I'm finding grey hairs (aka 26) is just a little much, don't ya think?
In all seriousness, he's pretty cool. He surfs a lot and sings when he thinks I'm not listening. And guess what? He's pretty good at both- don't tell him I said that. He beats me all day in Words with Friends but let's me win everytime when we fight over who does the dishes. wah wah. He's got this floppy brown/black hair that if I scratch for 5 seconds, he falls asleep. This dating thing is super easy.
We like to do fun things together but he HATES dressing up.. but likes cool clothes so I'm a little confused there. So I'm gonna get it but look how handsome..
We recently went to one of my best friend's weddings (where he had to dress up again which was like pulling teeth- Permanent ones!) and everyone thought he was a professional surfer. Not only did I have the coolest date there, he also dances and is a total gentleman. Yep, so sorry gals.. I saw him first:)
The more we hang out, the more I feel like:
Cheers to changing my world a little each day.
I have a room in my apartment (gasp) undecorated! Have you ever searched around online until you have found everything you want in the room down to even the post it note you'd like sitting on the table? No. Just me? Well, I need an opinion! My style is a little on the funky side. Already in my apartment, my favorite pieces are the hallway of records, patent red tv table and of course, my woven tie chair. I'll have to post some pictures soon so you can see how 'eccentric' it gets HA.
Other than my full time, full stress advertising career, I am pursuing the blogworld. SINCE I now have a means of escape from the real world, I decided I need a blog/craft room in my apartment. I want it to be every bit inspiring as I feel. I'm one of those people who can't just have a desk and a computer. It needs to have a bit of 'me' in it or I'm out. It's like choosing an outfit. If you pick the wrong one for your mood, you feel BLAH all day long. So this is what I'm thinking..
I really like stripey curtains. in black. like these from Rue Magazine and Plush Palate blog:
These decorating geniuses hung curtains with no windows.. so that means I can do it, too!
I need a functional desk so this is kinda the boring part. Thinking something like this from IKEA- OH HOW I WISH Myrtle Beach had an IKEA! or Z Gallery. Or West Elm. Anything cool. sigh..
Side note: My house is pretty much red. Like, kitchen, recliners, decorations- everything. Well, Bree just couldn't get a red Kitchenaid mixer for Christmas, we def needed the HOT PINK one- or raspberry as they call it, I keep getting corrected. So, if I'm already messing up the color scheme.. why not keep it going which brings me to this..
Yeah, you just died a little bit, too- didn't ya?! It's beautiful and can you just imagine it with those curtains and desk?? Hmm.. better than chocolate. And this rug from Urban would be quite nice, too..
Urban Outfitters satisfys my funky pretty nicely. If I feel like I'm boring, it's always the perfect place to go pick up something a little edgy and crazy. Just makes me happy. I like these accessories for the rest..
Let's top it off with a little blog decor from Etsy:
you can see where to buy everything if you follow me on Pinterest
So.. whatcha think? hm? hm? I might have even had a dream about it last night- yay for decorating!
So recently, I've decided to become the next Betty Crocker. Yeah, I have big dreams- just go with it. After my attempt at baking class fell through, I've learned that their are really only about 5 steps you need to be a 'baker'.
1. Get a fabulous apron- I borrowed this "Kiss My Butter" one from Paula Deen
2. Watch something inspiring like Cupcake Wars or Julie and Julia- atleast someone is baking something good in the same room
3. Buy a cookbook that makes you look like a pro
4. Find something on Pinterest that will give your caking an 'extra Ooomph'- Let's try handspun sugar.
… and this is the most important…
5. Find taste testers that love you and will tell you it's wonderful no matter what!
It's simple- you're a baker.
