For Spring and Summer, I am really into patterns and prints. They are bright and make a bold statement. I usually have a very ‘black’ wardrobe with fun accessories to snazzy it up but I found this dress at ahem, TARGET and I couldn’t say no!
During this time of year, my closet is challenging. I want to purchase spring looking clothing however, my skin practically goes all vampire when it hits the sun (and not the cool, glittery Twilight way). So, my fix is to transition my colorful clothes with some winter time pieces. This helps break up the white girl look but also makes you look like you’re not a tourist at the beach… um, I saw at least 3 tourist wearing pastel colored booty shorts this past weekend. Not a good look for winter skin coloring.
This dress has so many different patterns going on and it’s super flattering in all the right areas. This is one of the designer brands that came into Target- Peter Pilotto. I really love the floppy skirt. Used together- the use of the red, black and white combo is a very dominant color choice so it gives the dress a nice girly touch.
Let me tell you something funny about designers at Target. Mom and I LOVE them. They have had a few huge launches like the Christmas time launch (previewed during Revenge one night) so we were there at 8 am. You know who else was there? No One! It was so sad that we came running in asking where the new Christmas designer branded items were and… we were the only ones there.
Oh well, y’all don’t go shop there on designer reveals and leave all the Brian Atwood leather elbow length gloves for me.. I’ll gladly take them all!
Ok, so back to this fabulous dress.. the pattern is very cool and pops! It’s made very well with a black slip underneath as well as a key hole in the back. It came with a color block belt which I thought was a little much so that’s why I switched it to brown.
I love a cool pair of shades and I had to show you these funky, chic ones. They are from Madewell in Charleston (just opened 2 months ago!) and I love them. They don’t have that extended nose piece so when you swoop them onto your head, it doesn’t get caught and rip your hair out. You know what I’m talking about…
This was a personal style blog so I did have a mismatch of things but I will tell you, this dress is on CLEARANCE at Target so you can get it at a good price.
Unfortunately, the others are slightly older: Ann Taylor Cardigan | Betsey Johnson Knee High Socks | Target Wedge Boots
Again, thank you so much to my amazing friend, Jazmin for helping me out with my style posts.

Hope you are enjoying this hot weather when we can get it and cheers to transitioning your favorite spring time outfits!
So I thought a cheetah ‘kilt’ was the perfect outfit choice for the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day. Erin and I went exploring in North Myrtle Beach for their annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration. It was so much bigger than we remember. It had 4 stages full of bands all day, a parade in the morning and food and art vendors down the whole of Main Street.
The people at this festival have great costumes! I brought my own..
However… this guy beat me to it.
The bands were great! We really liked a band called The Band Punch out of Raleigh. So many people were dancing all day!
Erin found a dress store that copied her look. haha
We took a break for a few hours in anticipation for the Ocean Boulevard party in Myrtle Beach. We go EVERY year to the festivals downtown. They are always packed out with crazy people and green beer. They have great bands, too. This year, American Idol’s Elise Testone was the headliner.
We got VIP passes thanks to Dad but it didn’t take us long to get kicked out. You have to drink your green beer in the tent and stay far from the band? No way!
We liked the other bands, too however we couldn’t wait for Elise and guess what? I got right up close for great pictures and we even got a photo with her after her performance! She was awesome and sang everything from Jamiroquai to Led Zeppelin.
Myrtle Beach is the best place for St. Patrick’s Day hands down! At least 6 different events were going on around Myrtle Beach.
Make sure you have your green on today and don’t get pinched! Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!
I know a lot of people will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this coming Saturday so here is a little St. Patrick’s Day green outfit inspiration! All found on Pinterest and all for you. Make sure you click here and follow me if you like what you see!
And of course, one of my favorites from Sex & the City!
