Alright gals (and guys!)… I have a new product to tell you about and I’m not going to sound sale-sy. A few weeks ago, Flex Belt reached out to me and asked if I would review their product and tell people what I think. At first, I was very skeptical but when it showed up on my door, I decided they were really serious and I started doing some research.
Flex Belt is a medical grade toning belt for your abs. You can strap it around you midsection, press a button, let it work on you for 30 minutes, and then ABS! So… you can see how skeptical I could be about it, right?
Well, I decided to dig in. Is this product safe? Yes. It’s FDA cleared and they have over 2 million active customers and all loving the product on various social media channels. The magazines Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire did a review and said it worked. They have celebrity endorsers like Denise Richards. But the thing that sold it to me was that they advertise on QVC. For some reason, I just think QVC only sells products that work. But maybe it’s that marketing side that gets me.
How does it work? It has 3 gel squares that go on direct skin at your abdomen. Attached is a little remote that is very easy to use and it has 10 different programs about 30 minutes long. With each program, you can up the intensity (1-150).
Does it work? After using it for some time, Yes, I really do think it works. Granted, I am not a person that eats healthy every day and goes to the gym 5 times a week. I do it when I can. The Flex Belt is not meant to be a replacement for a work out, it is an ab strengthener. When I did the ab workouts, once a day for a whole week, I could feel a difference. You know that feeling of tightness and strength after you just finished a workout, I could feel that after 30 minutes of Flex Belt! That part was amazing. However, you really have to work up to the right level for you. My abs are not as strong as the highest level yet and I’m okay with that. I even jacked it up one day to see what it was like and I felt like I was being punched. So please, work your way up!
What I really like about this product is how discreet it is. I’m at a computer all day long at my office and I can’t tell you how easy it was to wear it. By the time I’ve sent a couple emails and finished up a phone call, the 30 minutes was over. I really like that you can use it anywhere. I’m going to start using it while I’m getting ready in the morning just so I don’t forget it at work over the weekend.
I think this is a great product for muscle confusion. In my barre classes, we are constantly talking about muscle exhaustion and confusion with different workouts. This is perfect for someone working out and trying to get a tighter core without another hour in the gym. Also, it would be great for tightening back up after having a baby. Just remember, it’s not a weight loss solution, but an ab strengthener. You need to be working out and eating well to see results.
Wow! This sounds great. What’s the cost? And then, their is the cost factor… It’s a little under $200. The price of the belt only tells me that it works. I know it’s a little high but it does give the product some prestige in my eyes and after trying it, I can really feel a difference.

So this is me telling you completely transparent. Yes, Flex Belt sent me the product for free to try. Yes, I was skeptical but did the research (and am not anymore!). Yes, I think the product works and it’s a great solution for a busy person like myself. I would recommend trying it out along with regular exercise! Let me know if you have any questions.. I’d be happy to show you the product as well if you’re near by!
Happy Abs Folks!
Last Wednesday was a fantastic day! Erin and I had the most delicious lunch at Chive Blossom in Pawleys Island and then headed down to Charleston early for some King St. shopping and of course, stopping in Mac & Murphy!
It was only an hour away when we started to get ready for the big party… Not only have I been blessed to go to 1 Not Wedding but I’ve been to THREE now!! It is such a gorgeous event. I was so excited to see the marketing director, LaBruce, as well as take some of my favorite friends to experience the awesome-ness of The Not Wedding.
The event this year was at Boone Hall Plantation (ahem, Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds) and it was absolutely gorgeous. It was hot BUT the dockside wedding was a little breeze relief. I’m afraid my phone was feeling the heat in some of my photos as well.. haha
My sorority sister, Laura, was the lovely bride with her hubby, Charlie. She was stunning in a Maude Couture gown made just for this event. The bottom even came off for the reception to make a short dress!
The ceremony was short and sweet and seriously, that view! I loved that the bridesmaids walked down the aisle in bare feet.
The rest of the evening was filled with beautiful ideas and yummy food. They had two massive trucks arrive. One was for beer on tap and the other was a brick oven for pizza! How Cool!?
I can honestly say, I’ve never seen that before!
PS- you can rent this bus above! It was the perfect air conditioned solution to all of the bridal party getting ready!
Going with Erin was really fun because… she was a bride! In the past, I felt like I was wasting vendor’s time by talking to them since I wasn’t getting married. However, this time, I had a reason to talk to everyone. Erin was my little kid to my trick or treating bag! hahaha of course, she got some great ideas, too. lol
The night went by so quickly, we turned around and Laura and Charlie were making their grand escape.
I am so thankful for these girls! We had the best time!
AND we were psyched to take home flowers! Last to leave a party is always a good idea…
The 2nd Not Wedding in Charleston was a HUGE success. You girls rock!
Peanut Butter- check.
Whipped Cream- check.
Chocolate/Caramel Sauce- check.
You simply can’t lose with this recipe. It’s fast to make and super easy. All you need is about 30 minutes of freezer time and then wham! you have so many friends coming out of the woodwork for this pie. (not to mention, it probably only cost you $12 to make)
Unfortunately, I didn’t do a pretty mini photo shoot with this pie. It was a one piece photo during a “calligraphy practice” night. But trust me, it’s pretty and looks store bought!
Oreo Cookie Crust (store bought or made- if you make it, crush up 24 oreos and stir in 4 tbsp of melted butter then press into the pie pan)
1 cup peanut butter
8 oz. softened Cream Cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
8 oz. Cool Whip thawed
STEP 1) Combine peanut butter and cream cheese and beat until combined
STEP 2) Beat in powdered sugar until smooth
STEP 3) Beat in Cool Whip
STEP 4) Pour into your crust, decorate with your favorite candies or ice cream syrup, and chill.
Only FOUR steps- Wahhh?? See, more time for the beach. I was thinking all about your summer tan. Seriously, it’s yummy so try it and you’re welcome.
