So, I'm cheating a little bit. I posted this on The Real PostGrads of SC but I just really loved it and wanted to share it on Breezy Cheetah.
The Postgrads kicked up their heels at Mary’s Wedding this past weekend! As honorary bridesmaids, we were in charge of picking our own little black dresses and shoes. Pretty dangerous thing to leave up to us if you ask me!
It’s time to play.. Which Shoes Belong to Which Girl!?! See if you can guess…
ANSWERS… and don’t you cheat!
1. B 2. A 3. D 4. C
I thought it was only necessary to have a fashion post today because I'm going to see Elton John tonight!!! So pumped and will document, don't you worry!
One of my best friends got married this weekend and we couldn't have been more excited to be part of her special day! The parties and the wedding were just so wonderful and all my college friends had the BEST time visiting and catching up. Dancing pursued and wine was drank. All together- GREAT WEEKEND!
Traveling anywhere (even SC) and not getting lost might be on the top of my list of things to work on. I am really bad with directions. I have even gotten lost going to Coastal Carolina. Which is not hard to find. At all. SO, I gave myself plenty of time to get to St. Matthews and even time to ask for directions- which I did. It was great to walk in and see everyone that I haven't seen in such a long time. The church was beautiful and Leigh even got to stand in a marry Rhett. HAHA- which was really funny.. even it it was only funny to us.
THE REHEARSAL DINNER
I'm not very used to the hunting and stuffing of animals but that made the wedding location just completely awesome- sorry for the deer photos- I just LOVE it. The dinner was SO good, we actually stole food the next day from the fridge! Fun getting to know the bridal party more and catching up. I loved the pineapples on the table. One of the groomsmen (and readers- shout out!), Joseph, said that a pineapple represents southern hospitality. It was also on the cute invitation.
OUR LODGE RETREAT
I gotta say, I don't even know why Mary suggested a hotel when we could stay here! Our little house had 6 bedrooms and six bathrooms with a huge bar! If that wasn't enough, all she had to say was we had a deer night light and I would have been sold. Not only did I feel spoiled rotten for getting my own room, we got homemade red velvet cake and wine as presents- SO happy.
THE BRIDAL LUNCHEON
We woke up the next day to a steady rain that came all day. However, it was kind of comforting in some way than a burden. The Bridal brunch was exquisite and everyone looked beautiful and ready for a wedding! Even the little flower girls with their cute tea party table! For our honorary bridesmaid gift, we got the cutest makeup bags with our names on them.. and gasp!.. Cheetah Wrapping Paper- so I had to take a picture.
We went back to the lodge and got ready, caught up on life since we all live in different cities, then went and stole food (not girly portions) from the rehearsal dinner party fridge. Hahaha- the BBQ was just So good NOT to steal. hehe
Got to the church early and everyone was surprisingly calm and just ready to go. Pictures were taken and sweet notes from the groom (for Mary) were read. Mary looked drop dead gorgeous.. but then again, she always does. I have a special fashion recap post tomorrow- stay tuned.
When the invitation said Cinema of Orangeburg, I really had to idea what to expect. This place was SO cool- they gutted an old movie theater and now hold events there. It is such a cool space and it was HUGE. I didn't take too many photos but I did steal some from LaBruce- hope you don't mind!!
After the reception, which probably should have been home, we went to a place everyone kept calling the bank. Being fooled with the cinema, I was sure we were going to an actual bank but surprised again, it was the bar next door. Dark, smoky, sketchy, full of wedding people and the professional karaoke singers of Orangeburg. Perfect.
Happy Honeymoon Mary and Rhett- LOVE YOU!
I'm all ready and packed up to head to St. Matthews, SC for the weekend to celebrate my college roommate, Mary! We love Rhett and I'm so excited to share the special day!
Her bachelorette was so cute! We had a painting party and lingerie shower so I'll leave you with these..
No wrapping paper? No problem- sketch a cute design hint on a blank box of what's inside!
