HAPPY FRIDAY Everyone!!
Monday officially marks my last day of school before I start the Summer Session. I’ve had 3 projects due along with tests in the last part of the semester so I wanted to show you what I’ve been doing lately!
The end of the semester was focused on films. In my InDesign class, we were told to recreate a movie DVD case. How cool is that? It could be any movie but we just had to make it look completely different than the original. I chose one of my favorite movies, 500 Days of Summer, to work on. The movie is really quirky so I thought I could get away with a lot more design elements. Here it is:
I got so into it, I made a DVD Insert for the inside, too!
For my Illustrator class, we had to redesign a movie poster. I wanted to stick with the same movie so everything would look streamlined in my portfolio. The kicker of course for Illustrator is that it all has to be hand drawn. I wanted to play with the whimsical effect still so I came up with this:
I really had a blast making these two designs! I only wish I was creating movie posters and dvd cases full time! haha
For my final project, our teacher had us create posters for an exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum in NY. I really enjoyed this project because we had a challenge of not altering the images provided as well as getting all the copy that was needed onto the design without making it too busy. Another great thing… these are being sent to Canterbury Cathedral in England and (could possibly) be displayed there!! Cross your fingers… ;)
I am still in love with my program and classes. This summer will be an internship as well as a Dreamweaver class (how to build websites) so wish me luck! Have a great weekend gang!
