Have I got your seeing Bruno Mars in your head yet?
That is exactly what I did all weekend. I said heck with it and took a Friday off at work to go have a family weekend. After seeing Bruno on the Superbowl, it was pretty much a done deal that Mom wanted to go see him in concert so who’s her esteemed concert buddy… me!
The show was in Raleigh so we took a weekend to go visit Grandmommy, too. I really feel like Grandmommy and I have the same kind of spirit. That is until she starts asking me questions like “What did you do with your hair” and saying endearing statements like “You really need to get a husband because that cat can’t take care of you”. You gotta take some bad with the good, I guess.
The three generations spent a whole weekend of lounging, shopping, eating and playing Scrabble. Mom and I had our tickets to the concert Saturday night so we went on to Raleigh later that day. A little Nordstrom shopping got me this fun bracelet for the concert..
An hour before, we were hungry. Being only 1 of 2 restaurants in the area, I can safely say that I’ve never waited inline at a Wendy’s for 30 minutes and will not ever wait again.
On the way into the concert, of course, me and Mom had to take a selfie.
The concert hall was huge. Like 19,000 people huge. Our seats were um, I’d rather not say. But we saw the concert. haha I really liked seeing the arena fill up..
The concert was really awesome. He played all the best songs!
After a little bit of sleeping in, a McDonald’s hot cake breakfast, and some studying Dreamweaver on the car ride home, we were back in Myrtle Beach ready for some Father’s Day celebration.
Dad and I set up the badminton set and Mom cooked fresh veggies she got from the farmer’s market in North Carolina. We had a fun game night with a delicious dinner. What a wonderful family oriented weekend and I loved every minute of it.
